The Metro Kino is widely regarded as one of the finest cinemas in Vienna. Built in the 19th century, the stunning auditorium provides an ideal backdrop for presenting the history of film right up to the present day. The Filmarchiv Austria successfully acquired the building as its main screening location in the summer of 2002 and has been exhibiting innovative programmes, retrospectives and seasons, which have transformed the Metro Kino very much into an open forum for the intensive discussion of Austrian cinema. It also provides a superb location for festivals such as the Viennale and the Jewish Film Festival.
Cafe & Bar Metro

The bar in the dignified edifice of Metrokino was re-opened in 2004. It encompasses 2 floors. On the ground floor there are a café and the cinema buffet. On the first floor there is another café and a bar. Metrocafe is the centre of the festival and meeting point for guests, filmmakers and students. Here people dispute, drink and party. Besides many DJs there will be live acts like Violetta Parisini and Nihil Baxter.
Gartenbau Kino

Gartenbaukino is the Viennese premiere and festival location. When the red curtain opens, an impressive widescreen gives the audience cinema pleasure one of a kind. Locate at Ringstraße opposite of Stadtpark, Gartenbaukino has developed into a central junction of Viennese cinema and festival landscape. Even today it is the biggest one-screen movie theatre in the city of Vienna.
